Can you make money posting referral links across the Internet?

There has been a rise in websites purporting to offer online users the chance to make money part time from home by completing simple online tasks.

Many of these websites claim that those who sign up can earn as much as several hundreds of dollars a day, or even thousands of dollars each week. So we took a look at such sites to see if they were legitimate.

The site we were directed to after our comments section was spammed with its link was a site called PayKilo.com, a site that proudly announced that we could earn $500 a day, and that after signing up we would be “hired” to complete several tasks.

After signing up by entering a username, email and password, we were taken to the account login page, but the only task for us to complete involved taking a referral link generated especially for us and to post in across the Internet including social media websites like Google+, Facebook and Twitter.

As you can see from the image above, we were asked to spam the Internet with a link.

In fact, this was the only task offered by the site, and it was claimed that for each person who clicked the links we were posting, we would accrue $10.

In reality...

In reality, this is – of course – a complete scam. You simply cannot make any money by plastering links all over the Internet. Making money online does not work this way, and the majority of the links you post on the Internet – especially on privately owned forums or blogs – are likely to be removed since they would be [rightly] considered to be spam.

Websites that purport you can make a living online by doing this are generally after one thing – for you to create traffic for them. You are essentially advertising their website by posting spammy links across the Internet for them, and the number of sites that trick users into doing this is staggeringly high. In fact, after a closer inspection, we were unable to uncover dozens and dozens of websites that all contained the same grammar-laden sales pitch, all promises hundreds of dollars to do the exact same thing.

The reality is that many of these sites are owned by the same network of spammers, luring in thousands of Internet users each and every day.

Can you make money posting referral links online? No. You cannot. There is no legitimate business model here. There are hundreds of sites online that promise the exact same thing, and none of them ever pay out. While are there legitimate websites that allow you to make a little extra money working online, sites that promise you hundreds of dollars just by spamming links everywhere are always going to be trying to scam you.

Can you earn online doing tasks with MyPayPot.com?

We take a look at the website MyPayPot.com that purports to allow its members to make money by doing various online tasks.

Amongst the claims the site makes is that you can “earn $500 today” once you register. After looking at the site, we have categorised it as a referral link spamming website.

What does this mean?

Despite the claims made by the website that you can earn hundreds of dollars every single day simply by performing online tasks, the only task available to those who sign up is posting referral links across the Internet.

MyPayPot.co basically tricks Internet users with spurious claims of making lots of money by performing simple tasks such as posting links across the Internet. However, this is simply used as bait to lure those users into spamming the Internet with links to the same website.

However, making money by spamming links across the Internet is not a feasible way to make cash through the Internet, essentially rendering the website a scam. Spam links posted by its members are likely to be deleted by those website administrators who own the sites getting spammed, and such sites will not pay out to those who choose to sign up.

Sites that implore you to post links across the Internet and simultaneously assert that this is the key to making hundreds of dollars each day with the program are simply scamming you. Such a business model does not exist.

There are legitimate programs out there that work on a rewards-per-action basis, that don’t involve spamming the Internet. Websites like SwagBucks will pay their members based on various online tasks such as completing surveys, watching videos and playing games. Legitimate sites will promote a more realistic way of earning money online. Instead of false promises of earning hundreds of dollars a day (which can never happen) you can certainly earn enough with these sites to pay some bills, and they can be fun too.

We've been asked to take a look at the website Fawly.com, a site that claims you can earn a guaranteed “$1,500” in the first week by completing "simple tasks".

We have categorised this site as a "referral link spamming" website.

What does this mean?

This means that despite the sites claims that you can earn money online by performing "simple tasks", the only task you are asked to do is to spam the Internet with your unique referral link.

These types of websites lure Internet users in with promises of making a comfortable living online by performing simple tasks such as posting links across the Internet. However this is merely a charade, since those who sign up will essentially wind up spamming the Internet with links that lead back to the same website, thus giving them free advertising.

And the majority of these links will be removed or deleted by the websites where they are posted. The Internet community has become acutely aware of these types of schemes and most website/blog/forum administrators will remove any spammy referral links in short order. There are simply not many places online where these links would stay up, and less where Internet surfers would actually see and click them.

This means that Fawly.com is essentially a work-from-home scam aimed at luring Internet users into spamming the Internet with useless links that won’t make them any money.

Fawly.com is part of a larger network of similar websites operated by the same network of spammers. These sites are almost identical in both appearance and design, and include other domains like JamLass.com and DollarCell.com.

As usual our advice is simple; don't sign up for sites that claim you can make hundreds or thousands of dollars every week just by spamming the Internet with a unique referral link.

If you are looking to make some money online by performing simply tasks like answering questions or watching videos, we recommend sticking to the reputable websites that offer such a service.
